Measurement Rendering Issue on User Timelines
Incident Report for Cardiogram
Resolved
Our recent investigation into how measurements are displayed on the timeline for devices like Apple Watches, Fitbits, and the Google Pixel Watch revealed a unique behavior: when multiple measurements are taken within a one-minute interval, they are presented as an average BPM for that minute. After careful review, we determined this approach best balances accuracy and usability across device types and display sizes.

What This Means for You:

Heart rate measurements will appear as one-minute averages on the timeline, while the underlying detailed data will remain unchanged.
All AI insights, report cards, and risk scores continue to use the original measurements without affecting accuracy.

This refined display method ensures all data remains visible, consistent, and optimized for your Cardiogram experience. Thank you for your continued trust in us as we work to improve your health insights.

Investigating
We are currently experiencing an issue affecting how measurements are displayed on user timelines in the Cardiogram app. For devices that take multiple heart rate measurements within a one-minute interval, such as Apple Watches and Fitbit Devices including The Google Pixel Watch, the timeline is temporarily displaying these readings as one-minute averages instead of each individual measurement.

Affected Devices: Apple Watches, Fitbit Devices, and The Google Pixel Watch.
Impact: Display issue on timelines only; the underlying raw data remains accurate and is still used for AI analysis, report cards, and risk scores.
Temporary Solution: Measurements will be shown as one-minute averages to ensure data is visible on all phone types.

Our engineering team is actively working on a fix, which we aim to release soon. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue. Thank you for your understanding.
